Specializing in Selective Plating Development & Technology

New Products to Note

Hydraulic Repair Kit
W.R. Associates has developed a hydraulic repair package for the repair of hydraulic cylinders and bearing journals from 1" - 8" in diameter. The tooling designed for pinpoint grinding and profile grinding and polishing gives this repair technology a clear advantage over other repair processes.

Opti-Grinder
The Opti-Grinder pictured above, provides a stable platform to enable optimum control of the grinding tool for consistent results in surface preparation. The Profiler photo top of next column, provides exact finishing of the repaired area to the surrounding circumference.

Profiler
In combination with LDC selective plating technology which is recommended by Caterpillar Corporation as a source for hydraulic repair systems - this system enables cost saving repairs as never before. Performed Process downtime disassembly required by processes. You can add this capability to an existing brush plating operation; it is compatible with most all brush plating installations. For more information call W.R. Associates. In-place, this eliminates costly associated with of equipment other repair Oscillating Arm This tool has been specifically designed to replace the arm of the operator. It should be considered whenever thick deposits are to be applied

Oscillating Arm
The Oscillating Arm can be used to provide a repetitive, circular or lateral motion on flat surfaces; or, it can be used instead of a tool holder in conjunction with the LDC Turning Head to provide a lateral motion creating more uniform deposits on outside diameters (OD).

Technical Tips
If you are plating steel or iron components in place or taken out of older machinery and equipment, you are familiar with the grease and oil that can be absorbed into these parts. If the part is not completely free of these impurities, the plating will generally not adhere. Often, before being plated, these parts are baked in an oven to "sweat out" the grease and oils. However, if you are plating in place, or you just can't bake these parts, there is a viable alternative. LDC-01 Electroclean, run in reverse current for 2 - 30 minutes will usually take all the grease and oil out of parts. It is important to have several anodes prepared and wrapped with absorbent material, such as sleeve material or dacron felt, before you start the process. As you run electroclean in reverse over the part, the wrap material will absorb the impurities. After the wrap has become saturated with grease and oil (grey to black in color), you must quickly replace it with a new wrapped anode. During this time the grease and oils are physically being pulled out of the part onto the wrap material. Continue until the wrap no longer shows evidence of the impurities (this will take anywhere from a 2 to 30 or more minutes, depending upon the part).
CAUTION: Do not try this on Aluminum, LDC-01 in reverse will etch the part.
